Meet Our Provider: Megann Spore, NNPBC, IBCLC

We’re thrilled to introduce one of our incredible co‑founders, Megann Spore, a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience caring for the tiniest and most vulnerable babies in the NICU. As both a seasoned clinician and a devoted mom of two, Megann understands just how overwhelming, beautiful, exhausting, and transformative the early years of parenthood can be. Her career has been shaped by thousands of moments spent supporting families through some of their most emotional days, and over time, those experiences sparked a deep passion for helping parents feel confident, supported, and truly cared for during those precious first days, weeks, and months at home with their newborns.

Megann has always believed in the power of at‑home healthcare, especially for new families. She saw firsthand how stressful it can be to pack up a newborn, navigate traffic, or sit in a waiting room full of sick little ones. To her, care should meet families where they are, not the other way around. That belief became one of the driving forces behind First Call Pediatrics and our commitment to concierge pediatrics, direct primary care pediatrics, and newborn care at home for families across Jacksonville.

Her foundation is built on hard work and perseverance. Megann began her educational journey at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, becoming a board‑certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Her dedication to continuous learning led her to pursue additional training in lactation, ultimately becoming an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Her career has taken her through some of the nation’s most respected healthcare systems, including UVA Health System, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, UNC Health Care, and Nemours at UF Health Jacksonville, each shaping her clinical expertise and deepening her understanding of what families truly need during the earliest stages of their child’s life.

The vision for First Call Pediatrics grew from Megann’s own experience as a working mother navigating the traditional healthcare system. She faced the same frustrations so many parents do: long waits, rushed appointments, difficulty being heard, and the logistical nightmare of bringing multiple young children to an office visit. She saw families struggling with the same challenges day after day and knew there had to be a better way. That realization became the foundation for a model of pediatric care that prioritizes accessibility, calm, connection, and genuine support; a model where families have access to a house call pediatric care team in Jacksonville.

Whether a family needs newborn home visits, postnatal care for new moms, newborn care support, lactation guidance, or simply reassurance during a late night worry, Megann’s mission is to create a space where parents feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her vision helped shape our pediatric membership care, including our Newborn Membership for ages 0–2 and our First Steps Membership for ages 2–18, each designed to offer peace of mind, flexibility, and truly family centered pediatric care.

Outside of her clinical work, Megann lives a life rooted in joy, family, and community. She starts her mornings with high energy workouts at Orange Theory Fitness and finds joy in celebrating holidays, visiting fall farms, and driving around to admire Christmas lights with her kids. She’s the mom cheering loudly at every soccer game, basketball game, school play, and art show. Megann has been with the love of her life for 14 years, and together they’re building a life filled with laughter, adventure, and the kind of everyday moments that matter most.

Her loving and caring nature extends far beyond her own home. At her core, Megann believes that parenthood isn’t meant to be done alone; it truly takes a village. Through First Call Pediatrics, she is committed to being part of yours. Her hope is that every family she meets feels supported, understood, and cared for from the very first call, receiving the same level of compassion and attention she brings to her own family. And that is the heart behind First Call Pediatrics: expert care, delivered with warmth, connection, and the belief that every family deserves a pediatric team who shows up for them, right at their front door.
